SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Senior Sourcing Manager develops and implements global sourcing and supplier management strategies to effectively plan and purchase raw materials/components, support new product development, and procure indirect services & equipment. This position is leading a team responsible for managing the material cost reductions, contract term negotiations, supplier performance, and a working capital metric.

REPORTING TO : President, BAND-IT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure continuity of supply to support and achieve on time delivery metrics to our customers.

  • Select suppliers through robust supplier selection process and deploy risk mitigation techniques to ensure effective continuity of supplier even with sole source situations.

  • Support make vs buy analysis to determine the best longterm approach for BAND-IT

  • Negotiate and contract key suppliers to ensure BAND-IT has a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

  • Manage global inventory of raw materials and components to meet working capital goals.

  • Manage key suppliers to ensure they achieve quality, delivery, and cost metrics that will allow us to serve our customers.

  • Develop suppliers to ensure they can meet BAND-IT requirements and provide scorecards on a monthly basis to ensure suppliers are meeting BAND-IT expectations.

  • Lead and develop a team of Buyers and Buyer/Planner to achieve department goals and metrics.

  • Experience purchasing steel or other raw materials leveraging commodity data to ensure we maintain competitive edge in the marketplace.

  • Responsible and accountable for a variety of management reports and root cause analysis; the development and execution of countermeasures that effectively resolve misses against plans.

  • Drive internal process improvements to deliver raw materials via pull systems through a combination of supplier strategies including but not limited to vending machines, vendor managed inventory, and Kanban triggers.

  • Drive results with a sense of urgency and diplomacy through superior processes and change management.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive global sourcing experience, at least 3 years in leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems (JDE preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of and ability to negotiate contracts

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead globally, including influencing employees that don’t directly report to position

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

4 year Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Operations

CPIM and Master’s Degree is a strong plus
